Once a month, families with children of all ages will gather to experience, explore, and examine the history and nature of Chapman Forest. A variety of activities will lead participants to a greater understanding of the plants and animals living here, the habitats and ecosystems present, the Potomac and Mattawoman watersheds, the history of the Chapman Family, the historical significance of this piece of land, and more. At every Family Frolic, guided walks and jaunts out onto the land will turn your Frolic into a very personal experience. These events are free, but we do recommend a suggested donation of $3 per child or $5 per family.

For more information on the Fish Love Forests Family Frolics, email the Learning Coordinator.

All Good Kids Roots and Shoots

All Good Kids, a Roots and Shoots group, plans and completes service projects to improve the world around us near and far. Each year, we work to help animals, the environment, and the human community (yup - people). Some of the projects are one time things while others are ongoing for a period of time. With our projects, kids learn new information, new skills, and provide leadership in small and large ways. Oh, and we are doing good deeds at the same time!

All Good Kids has its own web site with details on our past and current projects. As a member of All Good Kids, you will receive an invitation to a Yahoo! group just for All Good Kids, an invitation to the members only sections of the Roots and Shoots® web site, and the freedom to plan and lead a project or few. What ages are in the group? All! Some projects will be easier for little ones to participate. Others are designed for high school/college ages to shine. If you are under 24, we'd love to have you as a ‘Kid’; if you are older, help us facilitate these great projects!

To join All Good Kids, just come to our next project (schedule varies so check the calendar) or email the Leader. Membership in All Good Kids is completely free!
